ACROBATIC GYMNASTICS CLASSES
Acrobatic Gymnastics combines the skill of a gymnast, artistry of a dancer and the courage and excitement of an acrobat! It is a dramatic visual discipline popular with spectators, with routines choreographed to music and including partnership work. Gymnasts work closely together, building up trust and responsibility for each other and developing skills in balance and dynamic elements as well as floor skills, tumble, flexibility and body conditioning.
These classes are an introduction to general and acrobatic gymnastics. Gymnasts work in small groups by age and ability with highly qualified and experienced coaches. All gymnasts can take part in badge weeks and/or annual Club Championships. The Gymnasts can transition from this group into more advanced classes and also to the competition groups at Astro by invitation. All classes have the opportunity to take part in our Annual Display and Club competitions.
WHAT TO WEAR – Gymnasts should wear a leotard and shorts with leggings or tracksuit to warm up in, with bare feet and jewellery removed. Shorts and t’shirt are ok to start with but a leotard must be worn once a gymnast is registered. Boys can either wear a leotard or close fitting t’shirt. Astro kit is available from our supplier Mick Mick designs
here. Club leotard and shorts can be bought from Astro reception.
SESSION COSTS:
1 hr class – £7.36 / £30.68 monthly subscription
1.5hr class – £8.50 / £37.21 monthly subscription
2hr class – £10.50 / £43.75 monthly subscription
You will be given the option for pay for a 1 week trial before committing to a monthly subscription. All Astro members pay a £10 membership fee on joining and thereafter on the 1st of August each year and must register with Scottish Gymnastics
here by their third week, at a cost of £22.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP:
P1-3 classes – please come straight into the waiting room where a coach will collect the class at the start time. Children will be brought back to the waiting room after class.
P4-7 & S1-6 classes – Please wait in the drop off area outside (right side of the building) for a coach to collect the class. After class, please wait at the pick up side (left side of the building).
PLEASE NOTE THAT GYMNASTS AGED 12 AND UNDER CANNOT LEAVE ASTRO WITHOUT AN ADULT. THIS INCLUDES CROSSING THE ROAD TO A PARKED CAR. ALL GYMNASTS MUST BE COLLECTED FROM THE PICK UP POINT.
